07. India Pale Ale - India Pale Ale
Extract Ingredients:
- 6lb Golden Light DME
- 2.75lb 2 Row
- 1.5lb Superior Pilsen
- .5lb Carawheat
- 5oz Corn Sugar
Hops:
- 1oz Galaxy @ 60 min
- .5oz Galazy@ 20 min
- 1oz Comet @ Whirlpool 10 min
- 1 oz Polaris @ Whirlpool 10 min
- 1 oz Polaris @ Dryhop 4 days
- 1 oz Comet @ Dryhop 4 days
- 1.5 oz Galaxy @ Dryhop 4 days
Yeast: Imperial House, S-04, Wyeast 1098
Extract Instructions:
- Bag all cracked whole grains.
- Steep cracked grains in 1.5 gal water at 152 F for 45 minutes
- Sparge with 2 gal H2O @ 170
- Fill pot with H2O to 6.5 gal, bring to boil, remove from heat, and stir in extracts corn sugar
- Follow hop schedule, adding 1/2 tsp of Yeast Nutrient @ 15 min left in boil
- Cool to 70F, pitch yeast, and aerate
- After 5 days or so, add dry hop additions
- After 10 days (or at terminal gravity) keg or bottle your beer.
All Grain Ingredients:
- 9.7 lb High Color Pale
- 3.5 lb 2 Row
- 2.25lb Superior Pilsen Malt
- 2.8 oz Carawheat
All Grain Instructions:
- Heat 5 gal of water to 165F
- Add grains and mash for 45 min
- Heat 5 gal of water to 175
- Sparge until 6.5 gal wort is gathered
- Follow hop and fermentation schedule as written in the extract instructions
