This page lists the specific gravity of fermentables such as malts, malt extracts, sugars, honey, and so on. For each ingredient, we list the points per pound per gallon, or PPG. The PPG is the specific gravity you would get if you dissolved or mashed one pound of the ingredient in one gallon of water. For example, if the PPG of liquid light malt extract is 1.036, then putting 5 pounds in 5 gallons of water (1 lb/gal) would yield a gravity of 1.036.
For malts, mash efficiency is assumed to be 75% unless otherwise stated.
